How to block Android SMS

Please note: the items you will find indicated below may differ from what you see on your device screen, depending on the exact version of the operating system in use, the default application for receiving and sending SMS and / or the brand and smartphone model.
How to block incoming SMS
If you own an Android smartphone and that's your intention block incoming SMS, I inform you that you can succeed in your intent using the predefined functions dell 'app Messages in use on your device (eg. Google messages), through which you can prevent the reception of messages from unwanted senders.
To use it, take your smartphone, unlock it, access the home screen or drawer and select theMessages app icon (usually it is the one with the comic). Now that you see the main screen of the app, locate the message coming from the sender you want to block and make a long tap on it.
Next, click on the icon prohibition located at the top right and confirm your desire to block the selected sender by touching the wording Block in response to the warning that appears on the display.
After completing the above steps, all messages from the selected sender will no longer be notified to you and will no longer appear on the main screen of the Messages app.
If you have to think again, you can re-enable the reception of messages from specific senders previously blocked by tapping the button with the three dots present in the upper right part of the Messages screen, by selecting the item Blocked conversations and spam from the menu that appears, pressing the button again with i three dots, then on the voice Contacts blocked attached to the relevant menu and on the (X) placed next to the contact to unlock.
How to block advertising SMS
Would you block advertising SMS on your Android smartphone? In that case, you can take advantage of the SMS filter offered directly byapp Messages that you use on your device.
By default the filter in question should already be enabled, but you can still make sure of this by proceeding as follows: select theMessages app icon (usually it is the one with the comic) that you find on the home screen or in the drawer, then tap the button with i three dots present at the top and select the item Settings give the menu check if you press.
In the new screen that is shown to you at this point, tap on the wording Spam protection and make sure the switch next to the item Turn on spam protection on the next screen is set to ON (if not, take care of yourself). Of course, if you want to disable the spam filter, just flip the switch to OFF.
If the default SMS filter settings do not block specific advertisements, you can remedy this by marking them yourself as spam. To do this, go to the main screen of the Messages app, make a long tap on the preview of theSMS of your interest and touch the icon prohibition, top right, then check the option Report spam in the screen that appears and tap on the item OK.
In case of second thoughts, you can make sure that a given sender is no longer marked as spam by pressing the button with the three dots located at the top right of the Messages screen, by selecting the item Blocked conversations and spam from the menu that opens, by tapping the button with i again three dots, then on the item Contacts blocked attached to the relevant menu and on the (X) at the contact say your interest.
If the default functions of Android do not satisfy you, I inform you that you can block the SMS of an advertising nature also by resorting to the use of some third-party app, such as Truecaller, which is one of the most famous apps in the world for blocking calls and messages from known annoyances (i.e. call centers, scammers and all the other companies that usually send promotional SMS to users), giving up but a little privacy. How to block SMS without number
Let us now how to block SMS without number, or the anonymous ones, sent using the possible anonymization service made available by some telephone operators, and the informative and / or advertising ones that are sent by companies, shops, telephone operators and other categories of commercial establishments and indicate as contact information the name of the company only (as they do not have a telephone number).
The function you can use in this case is practically the same that I have already reported to you in the previous step regarding the blocking of advertising SMS: the SMS filter dell 'app Messages you use on your Android smartphone.
Furthermore, some apps for managing messages have an integrated antispam filter, able to block the reception of SMS based on some keyword present in them. For example, on smartphones Samsung just open the default Messages app press the button with i three dots vertically at the top, select the item Block messageswho quills Block phrases and type le keyword of your interest in the appropriate field.

How to block iPhone SMS
Let's now turn to the side iPhone and let's find out how to block SMS on the Apple smartphone. Below you will find out how to prevent the reception of any Incoming SMS, of those Advertising and messages without number.
How to block incoming SMS
If you own an iPhone and are interested in understanding how to block incoming SMS coming from specific numbers, I immediately inform you that all you have to do is use the predefined functions of iOS.
That said, the first step you need to take is to take the device, unlock it, access the home screen and tap on the icon of Settings (Quella a forma di ruota d'ingranaggio).
In the new screen you now see, tap the word Messageswhy are you cheating? Contacts blocked and tap on the item Add. Select, therefore, the contact present in the address book of your iPhone that you want to block and that's it.
If you have already received SMS from the number you intend to block but this is not saved in the "iPhone by phone" address book, you can still succeed in your intent: to do so, go to the iOS home screen, tap onMessages app icon (Quella with the green background and the white speech bubble) and select the conversazione of your interest among those listed.
Now, tap on the telephone number of the sender that you find at the top of the next screen, then on the icon (I) attached to the menu that opens, then press again on telephone number located in the following screen, touch the wording Block contact and, finally, confirm your intentions by tapping on the item Block contact on the menu if you press.
After following the steps above, all messages from the selected sender will no longer be notified to you and will no longer appear in the Messages app. However, keep in mind that the function in question not only blocks the receipt of SMS but also that of phone calls, emails and FaceTime calls from the reference numbers.
Should you have second thoughts, you can always reactivate the receipt of SMS from blocked numbers, by going back to the section Settings> Messaging> Blocked contacts iOS, by tapping on the item Modification located at the top right, by pressing on pulsating circolare rosso at the contacts to "free" and, therefore, on the button Remove. To save the changes, then tap on the item end located at the top right.
How to block advertising SMS
As for the possibility of block advertising SMS on iOS, there is unfortunately no “stock” feature specifically designed for this purpose. But what you can do, to remedy this, is to use the predefined functions of the Apple smartphone to block the numbers from which you receive advertising-themed messages proceeding in the same way as I indicated in the previous step for messages in general.
Then if the messages you receive are sent to you via iMessages, Apple's instant messaging system, you can enable the spam filter and thus avoid being annoyed. To use it, select the icon of Settings (Quella a forma di ruota d'ingranaggio) that you find on the home screen, tap on the item Messages, select the dicitura Strangers and spam on the next screen and bring up ON l'interruttore accanto alla voce Filter unknown users.
Afterwards, open theapp Messages, by tapping on the relative icon (Quella with the green background and the white speech bubble) present on the home screen, and you will find a new tab in the relevant screen, called unknown, within which all messages from numbers not present in your contacts will be automatically grouped. Furthermore, when you receive these messages, you will no longer receive any notification.
Clearly, if you change your mind, you can deactivate the iMessagge spam filter at any time by going back to the section Settings> Messages> Unknown and Spam of iOS and moving on OFF the switch next to the wording Filter unknown users.
In addition to what I have just indicated, I inform you that you can block the advertising SMS you receive on your iPhone by using some special third-party app, as in the case of Truecaller (giving up some privacy). How to block SMS without number
Finally, let's see how to block SMS without number that you receive on your iPhone. In this case, a predefined function for actually blocking this type of message does not exist.
But what you can do to try to avoid being annoyed is disable notifications for SMS indicating the company name as sender. To do this, open theapp Messages, by tapping on the relative icon (Quella with the green background and the white speech bubble) on the home screen, and tap on conversazione of your interest from the list that is proposed to you.
On the next screen, then tap the company name that you find at the top, then on the icon (I) attached to the menu that opens and leads up ON l'interruttore Hide alerts. Should you think again, just bring it up again OFF the switch.
