Block a mobile number on iPhone with the Blocked feature
Let's start by seeing how to block a mobile number on iPhone using the iOS Blocked feature. If you have never heard of it, the Blocked function available on iOS is a feature that - as can be easily deduced from the name - allows you to prevent specific contacts from calling you, either via "normal" call or via FaceTime, but also to send you SMS and to contact you via iMessage.
When a contact is blocked and tries to call you, he will find himself having to deal with the same recorded voice that your telephone provider plays to whoever calls you whenever your phone is turned off or unreachable. Another function that allows you to block unwanted numbers on the iPhone is the one called Do not disturb. The Do Not Disturb function of iOS, if you have never heard of it, is a special feature available on Apple mobile devices that allows you to block all calls, including those made via FaceTime, when the terminal is in stand-by, except those received of numbers added to a favorite list.
When the Do Not Disturb function is active and a contact tries to call you, he will find himself listening to the same recorded voice that your telephone company makes to hear whoever calls you whenever your phone is turned off or unreachable. As for the SMS and messages sent via iMessage, you will receive them regularly but your phone will not emit any notification sound.
To block a mobile number on iPhone using the Do Not Disturb function all you have to do is call back the Control Center of iOS by swiping from bottom to top on any screen and pressing the icon depicting a half moon.
After activating the Do Not Disturb function in the upper right part of your iPhone screen you will see an icon depicting a half moon.
