Block a group on WhatsApp from a smartphone
Do you want to find out what you need to do to be able to block a group on WhatsApp from your smartphone? Well, then, to begin with, access the screen of your device where all the apps are grouped and press the WhatsApp icon and then follow the following indications that differ slightly depending on the platform used.
If you use a iPhone, presses on the card Chat, select the group you want to act on and then press the name of the group at the top and tap the button silent.
Next, choose the time frame in which to disable notification sounds (you can choose between 8 hours, 1 weeks o Everlasting), select the voice Personalized alerts of the menu, bring up ON the option Notifications and move up OFF the lever of Alerts in order to disable text notifications as well.
If you use one Android smartphone, access the section dedicated to chats, press the button Menu (the icon with the three dots) located at the top right and choose the option silent give the menu that comes mostrato.
Then indicate the length of time for which you want to disable the notification sounds (you can choose between 8 hours, 1 weeks o Everlasting), uncheck the wording Show notification to also disable text notifications and presses the button OK to save the settings.
In case you have to think again, you can always and in any case cancel the procedure just seen together to block a group on WhatsApp and, consequently, reactivate the receipt of notifications for the same. To do this, if you are using an iPhone, press the button silent, choose the option Turn on audio from the menu that appears and moves up OFF the option Notifications in the section Personalized alerts. If, on the other hand, you are using an Android smartphone, select the previously silenced group, press the button Menu located at the top right and choose the item Turn on audio give the menu to compare.
Block a group on WhatsApp from a computer
Are you interested in understanding what you need to do to be able to block a group on WhatsApp by acting through the official computer client of the famous app? Then stick to the following guidelines, the procedure to follow is practically the same on both Windows that of MacOS.
To begin with, start the application WhatsApp su Windows or on MacOS by clicking on its icon and if necessary, scan the QR Code that is shown on the screen. Then click on silent, select the time frame in which to disable notification sounds (you can choose between 8 hours, 1 weeks o Everlasting) and click on the button OK.
If you then have to think again, you can always and in any case cancel the procedure just seen together by which you can block a group on WhatsApp by clicking again on the button in the shape of a freccia rivolta verse il basso which you can view by placing the mouse cursor on the name of the group and then pressing on the item Silent cancel.
Block a group on WhatsApp from the web
As already mentioned, you can block a group on WhatsApp even if you are using the web version of the popular instant messaging app. The procedure to follow is extremely simple and fast and in some ways similar to what has already been seen on a computer. Now I'll explain everything.
To begin with, connect to WhatsApp Web by typing https://web.whatsapp.com in the address bar of the Web browser that you generally use to surf the net and then pressing the button Submit present on the computer keyboard. If necessary, scan the QR Code that is shown to you on the screen following the instructions I have given you in the previous lines, as I have explained to you how to block a group on WhatsApp from your computer.
Then click on the icon depicting a freccia rivolta verse il basso which you can view by placing the mouse cursor on the group name in the main program screen, then select the item silent from the menu that is shown to you and indicates the time frame in which to disable the notification sounds (you can choose between 8 hours, 1 weeks o Everlasting).
To restore everything and, consequently, to cancel the entire procedure by which to block a group on WhatsApp through the Web version of the famous messaging service, all you have to do is click again on the icon in the shape of freccia rivolta verse il basso which you can view by hovering the mouse cursor over the group name and clicking on the item Silent cancel annessa to the menu che ti comes mostrato.
Alternatives
You haven't been added to any group yet but want to prevent this from happening in the future? If so, you can prevent this by blocking the admin or admins of the group in question.
